The project is part of the expansion plan of the country's national transmission system.
June 9th, 2020 - Abengoa (MCE: ABG/P:SM), the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the infrastructures, energy and water sectors, has been selected by the company Transelec, one of the main providers of electric transmission in Chile, for the expansion of a 220-kV electrical substation, whose works are part of the expansion plan of the Chilean national transmission system.
The works, which will take place near the city of María Elena, in the Antofagasta region in Chile, will consist of the expansion of two thirds of the diagonal of the substation and the widening of two connection points to the interconnection of the Chilean national system. Abengoa will be responsible for the engineering review, partial acquisitions, construction, assembly and commissioning of the substation.
With this award, Abengoa consolidates its leadership position in the energy distribution sector, in which it has built more than 27,000 km of lines and more than 330 substations worldwide.
