The company will be in charge of the construction of a new electrical substation, as well as the sectioning of an existing line on the island of Chiloé.
The project corresponds to the expansion plan of the Chilean national transmission system.
December 17, 2019 - Abengoa (MCE: ABG.B), an international company that applies innovative technological solutions for sustainable development in the infrastructure, energy and water sectors, has been selected by Transmisora del Pacífico, a company belonging to Group Transelec, the main Chilean electric transmission company, for execution of works that will allow to meet the country's national transmission system expansion plan.
Abengoa will be responsible for the construction, in the surrounding areas of the city of Ancud, on the Island of Chiloé, of a new electrical substation that will connect with two sectioning diagonals of the existing 220 kV Melipulli - Chiloé line and another 2x220 kV Tineo - Nueva Ancud line. Likewise, the works include the adaptation of the land for future new installations that will allow the increase of the capacity of the Tineo - Nueva Ancud line to 2x500 kV.
With this award, Abengoa consolidates its leadership position in the energy transmission sector in Chile, a where it has been present for more than 30 years and in which the company has built more than 3,000 km of lines and more than 40 electric substations.
